A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, Mr Bode Towoju, has said that there is no faction in the state chapter of the party, saying those parading themselves as state executives are trouble makers.

Towoju, said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview in Abuja.

He said that the national secretariat of the party has not inaugurated any interim executive committee for the state, noting that those parading themselves as interim executives “are jokers”.

The party chieftain said that the alleged division was due to naked ambition of some party faithful who he said, did not have the larger interest of the party at heart.

He said that there would be no automatic ticket for any aspirant as being speculated, adding that all prospective aspirants would go through the primaries.

According to him, everybody is free to contest election in APC, but they must be nominated by members of their constituency.

Towoju called on members to mobilise for the incoming registration slated for Jan.28, while calling on all its party faithful to be involved in the registration.

He enjoined aspirants to go to their ward and aligned themselves with the people, saying the people must know them before they could vie for any elective post.

He commended the 20 members of the State House of Assembly who defected from PDP  to APC.

NAN reports that Rev. Bunmi Olusona has been parading himself as the interim chairman of the party in Kwara state

But a statement issued by the party’s interim national secretary, Tijani Tumsah, said it has not inaugurated any interim executive for the state.

According to the statement the APC stakeholders in the state are working to find a convenient date for the inauguration.
