Alapa Crisis: KWSG Vows to Deal with Troublemakers
The Kwara State Government has vowed to bring the full weight of the law to bear on those behind the recent clash between Bororos/Fulanis and the indigenes of Alapa in Asa Local Government Area of the state.
In statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Sola Gold, the state government also announced that a 5-man panel has been set to determine the immediate and remote causes of the conflict between the two communities. Membership of the panel, he said, will be announced later.
According to the Secretary to the State Government, government is focused on the well-being of the people and will not countenance any attempt by any group or individuals, no matter how-highly placed, to disrupt the peace in any part of the state.
Alhaji Gold said the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the release of funds for the provision of relief materials to those displaced by the clash.
On todays's Local Government Council Elections, Alhaji Gold urged members of the public to turn out in their numbers to vote for the preferred candidates without fear as the Police and other security agencies have fully mobilized to provide security during and after the elections.
