Kwara vow to beat Pillars

Date: 2013-10-02

Nigeria Professional Football League  side, Kwara United have vowed to be the first beneficiaries of Kano Pillars' banishment to Lokoja, Kogi State.

Defending champions  Pillars will confront the Afonja Warriors on Wednesday at their new home in Lokoja in  their Week  35 duel.

Pillars were punished by the Nigeria Football Federation for  abandoning their Week 31 game against Enyimba in Kano. They  also lost  three points to Enyimba.

Kwara goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso said the Ilorin team were out to pile more pressure on Pillars.

"This is a neutral ground, and we are here to punish Kano Pillars because we need the three points," supersport.com quoted him  as saying on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars  coach Hakeem Busari says the team will fight like wounded lions against league leaders  Enyimba at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Wednesday.

The Oluyole Warriors lost the first leg in Aba  1-0 to Enyimba through a penalty, but Busari insists the story  will be different today.

He said, "We've done our home work very well, and  we'll put up good character hoping we'll be able to grab the three points at stake.

"We're not after taking  revenge on any side, we're not God who said we should leave revenge for Him."

"I know it'll be a tough game given the age long rivalry between the sides but we'll avoid defeat in the game.

"People are most likely to see us as being under pressure, we're not but taking our games as calmly as possible. Of course, you and I know that pressure doesn't win a game rather it complicate things, so we've done everything to avoid pressure."
