PDP Will Run Transparent Govt In Kwara - Ajibola
The PDP governorship candidate in Kwara, Sen. Simeon Ajibola, has given an assurance that he would run a transparent administration.
Ajibola gave the assurance on Saturday at the palace of the Emir of Shonga, Dr Haliru Ndanusa, during a campaign tour of Pategi Local Government Area of the state.
The governorship candidate was accompanied to the Emir by his running mate, Mallam Yinka Aluko, and other party chieftains.
He thanked the traditional ruler for accommodating the party in his domain and commended him for his numerous contributions to the growth of the community and nation at large.
Ajibola promised to revive the decay in infrastructure across the state and make life more meaningful to the people if voted into office.
“I have played active roles in community development service in Shonga in the areas of construction of primary healthcare service projects and donation of 2,000 blocks to women development building projects in the community,” he said.
Ajibola appealed to the people of Shonga to vote for all PDP candidates in the February elections to enjoy genuine dividends of democracy.
Reacting, Ndanusa saluted the maturity with which the party chieftains conducted themselves, stressing that what his people wanted was a performing government.
“In Shonga, we play politics with maturity and we always appreciate playing politics with sportsmanship.
“We believe that only God gives power to whoever He wishes because in every election, there must be winners and losers,” the emir added.
The monarch, however, demanded for the creation of three additional local government areas from the current Shonga Emirate.
He also called for the construction of a bridge over the River Niger to link the community with Niger State.
The PDP campaign team was received in the community by a mammoth crowd with the presentation of horses to Ajibola and Aluko
