Court dissolves Nollywood actor's 2nd marriage to Shaaba Lafiagi's daughter

Date: 2014-08-25

An Ilorin Upper Area Court has dissolved a marriage between a Nollywood star, Ibrahim Abiodun Chatta and Salamat Muhammed Lafiagi over lack of care and battering.

The presiding judge, Hon. R.O. Bakare, in his judgement said it was very clear to the court that there is no longer love between the couple and both of them have lost interest in continuing with the union. Consequently, the court dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to Salamat.

Salamat, a daughter of former Kwara State Governor, had approached the court for the dissolution of her marriage to Ibrahim Abiodun Chatta, claiming lack of care, abandonment and bad attitude towards the matrimonial home as reasons for the divorce suit.

Salamat, who resides at No. 17, Agbabiaka Area, Ilorin, Kwara State, said the marriage was contracted sometimes in April 2013 and was yet to produce any child.
