Abdulsalami, Dangote, Fashola, Ahmed, Others Bag Awards
Former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Africa’s richest business mogul, Alhaji Aligo Dangote, Lagos state governor, Raji Fashola and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State are among other emnient Nigerians expected to grace the Hall of Grace (HOG) induction and decoration ceremony, slated for September 6, at the Kwara State Banquet Hall in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The hall of fame induction and decoration, according to its custodian, Mr Rupert Ojenuwa, Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the HOG magazine, was designed to hold once in every four years.Its grand custodian and chairman is Chief Alex Akinyele, former Minister of Information and Cultural Orientation, said “the HOG award celebrates patriotism and hardwork. The induction ceremony is quite unique in the sense that it is a celebration of hardwork, commitment and dedication to excellence in public service and in selfless service to humanity, as had been profoundly displayed by the inductees.
“We are inducting all our past awardees into the HOG hall of fame during this event in September.
“Top on the list of awardees are the recipients of the Governor of the Year award, and they include Governor Fashola of Lagos State (2011), Governor Gabriel Suswam, (2012), Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State (2013) and Govenor Ahmed of Kwara State (2014).
“There is also the pride of Africa award, which covers a wider scope, which is rare because of the fact that we have to do a lot of research and findings before we can get a nominee. And so, since the inception of the HOG awards, we have only given the pride of Africa award to only one individual and that eminent person is Alhaji Dangote.
Other awardees of the HOG awards include Ben Bruce of Silverbird Group, Babatunde Fowler, Chairman/ CEO of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Pst. Ituah Ighodalo of SIAO, Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Chairman/CEO of Slot group, Dame Emmanuella Fashola, Firstlady of Lagos, Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye both of Primetime Africa, Prince Akintunde Ayeni, KCEE, Mike Ezeruonye, Chika Ike and others.
The event would take place on September 6, at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, Kwara State. It will be hosted by the incumbent governor of Kwara State, Governor Ahmed, because he is the most recent recipient of the HOG’s Governor of The Year award.
