ABS draw excites Warriors

Date: 2013-09-09

El-Kanemi Warriors central defender, Stanley Onuegbu has described as laudable achievement the point his side grabbed at Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS).

ABS forced the Maiduguri-based side to a goalless draw in the Glo Premier League Matchday 30 duel on Sunday at the Kwara State Stadium, llorin. ABS who played the game behind closed door due to the League Management Company (LMC) clampdown on the stadium failed to grab the three points at stake after they shot wide from the penalty spot.

Onuegbu said his side are satisfied with the point as it will boost their confidence in the side's mid-week game against Kwara United in Maiduguri.

"We're satisfied with the lone point at ABS, it has added to our points as well as an improvement on the log.

"ABS are compact and very good side despite the shared points, they lost opportunity to go up from the penalty spot, we also had our missed chances at goal but at the end the encounter ended 0-0.

"We're grateful to God for the point as we won't be returning to Maiduguri empty-handed. It's not an easy thing coming all the way from Maiduguri to pick a point at llorin.

"The draw will inspire us to forge ahead in our fight for good performance in the league and it will be a morale booster in our mid-week home game against Kwara United in Maiduguri.

"The encounter will be a massive opportunity for us to grab three points as well as to further improve our position on the log," said the El-Kanemi Warriors strongman to supersport.com.

The point at ABS has increased El-Kanemi Warriors total points to 48 from a possible 90. El-Kanemi Warriors won the first fixture in Maiduguri 4-1
