Kwara Utd sign, axe 4 players
Kwara United have snapped up four experienced players to help push their case for a continental outing next season, a top official has revealed.
The four players are Auwalu Aminu from Gombe United; John Lawrence from Kaduna United; John Lawrence and Wasiu Ibrahim from Lobi Stars and ABS respectively.
Explaining the reason behind the new acquisition, the head coach of Kwara United, Samson Unuanel informed SportingLife that the four players were brought in to shore up the club's resolve not to leave any stone unturned in their quest for the league title and other aspirations this season.
The former Super Falcons and Ocean Boys gaffer extolled the virtues and qualities of his recruits: "Auwalu and John Uche are good defenders we spotted during our games with Gombe United and Kaduna United. They are players that could fit into our game plan. We are in a time when we play league games twice in a week and putting that task on the same players may tell on them later. That was why we agreed to bring in Auwalu and John Uche so that we can have able replacements for the duration of the season and henceforth," Unuanel said.
The coach also revealed that four players had also been informed their services were no longer needed to balance the books.
Kwara United are second on the log with 32 points from 19 games after the question mark surrounding the Akwa United versus Warri Wolves' cracker.
