The entrepreneurship and empowerment programme of the Kwara State government is aimed at guaranteeing the security of lives and properties by engaging the youths in profitable ventures that would dissuade them from committing crimes.

Special Adviser to the governor on youth empowerment Alhaji Sakariyau Babatunde said in Ilorin yesterday that peace and harmony would prevail when youths are engaged.

Speaking during the education empowerment programme organised for some youths in Mogajin Geri ward of Ilorin West Local Government, the governor’s aide however advised the youths to key into the various skills acquisition programmes of the government.

“I am one of the believers that if you empower people, you are equally securing yourself because if you continue to empower our own immediate family alone, I bet you, it is a thing of time.
