Kwara Federation of Women Lawyers Pledges More Support for Women and Children
The International Federation of Women Lawyers, also known as Federation Internationale De-Abogadas (FIDA), Kwara State Chapter, has reiterated the organization’s commitment to continue its support for women and children legally and financially.
The Chairperson of the Organisation Committee, Mrs. Ronke Adeyemi, who stated this at the thanksgiving service held at Rhema Chapel, Tanke Ilorin on Sunday, said the organization would continue to render free legal services to indigent women, widows and orphans.
In a bid to take the good gesture to remote areas, the chairperson therefore solicited supports from well-meaning Nigerians.
The Chairperson explained further the objectives of the organization which include protection of women and children rights against violence, enlightenment programmes for students, promotion of girl-child education, eradication of prostitution and all forms of child abuse and discrimination against the vulnerable in the society.
Speaking at the event, the Senior Minister in charge, Reverend George Adegboye, commended the efforts of the women towards developing the nation and prayed for God’s protection for members of the organization.
