Kwara United head coach, Suleiman Ashifat, has declared the Harmony Boys ready for the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, assuring fans that the team is prepared to hit the ground running.

Ashifat spoke after Kwara United defeated Crown FC of Ogbomoso 2-0 in a pre-season friendly played on Wednesday to give supporters an opportunity to assess the team following its pre-season tour.

The coach said the friendly was part of the club's preparations for the new campaign after spending three weeks on the road during pre-season.

"The league is here already, and we have no excuse not to declare our readiness for the season," Ashifat said.

Kwara United recently returned from a pre-season tournament in Kano, where they finished as runners-up after losing to Ranchers Bees in the final through a penalty shootout.

Ashifat said the victory over Crown FC provided another opportunity for the technical crew to assess the squad, adding that remaining areas of concern would be addressed before the league opener.

The coach also called on supporters to come out in large numbers for the team's opening home fixture against Kano Pillars at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

"We promised to give our best and secure maximum points for Kwara State. We need the twelfth man behind us," he said.

Kwara United will begin their NPFL campaign at home against Kano Pillars, with the Harmony Boys looking to start the season on a winning note.
