The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their support towards strengthening security in the state.

Yusuf gave the commendation on Monday while presiding over the local government's monthly security meeting at the council secretariat in Share.

The meeting brought together representatives of security agencies and other stakeholders to review the security situation across Ifelodun and assess recent developments.

The council chairman commended the security agencies for their commitment, noting that their efforts had contributed to maintaining peace and safety across the local government over the past two months.

Yusuf also appreciated President Tinubu for approving the establishment of a brigade command in Omu-Aran, describing the development as a significant boost to security coverage in the area.

The council also welcomed the recruitment of additional personnel into the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, saying the increased manpower would strengthen security operations.

The chairman further commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his consistent support for security institutions in Kwara State.

He said the governor's interventions had continued to strengthen security efforts and improve the capacity of relevant agencies to respond to security challenges.

Meanwhile, Yusuf approved the partial reopening of the Oreke mining site, subject to proper monitoring and scrutiny, as part of efforts to balance security concerns with economic development.

He directed that trucks operating from the mining site should be monitored and made available for necessary inspection to ensure compliance with established guidelines.

The chairman reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting security agencies while creating opportunities for responsible economic activities capable of improving the livelihoods of residents of Ifelodun Local Government.
