Emir of Ilorin Congratulates Three Ilorin Lawyers Elevated to SAN Rank
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has congratulated three legal practitioners from Ilorin Emirate on their elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The monarch described the conferment of the prestigious rank as a recognition of the recipients' hard work, diligence and outstanding commitment to the legal profession.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Emir's spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona.
The Legal Practitioners' Privileges Committee (LPPC) recently approved the elevation of a new set of legal practitioners to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the highest professional distinction for advocates in the country, in recognition of their exceptional contributions to legal practice and the administration of justice.
According to the statement, the three SAN-designates from Ilorin Emirate are the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Sulyman Ibrahim; Barrister Mas'ud Alabelewe; and Barrister Mohammed Adelodun.
The Emir said the elevation reflects the professional excellence, integrity and dedication of the beneficiaries to the legal profession.
He noted that the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is reserved for legal practitioners who have distinguished themselves through excellence in advocacy and service to the justice system.
Sulu-Gambari urged the new Senior Advocates to uphold the ethics, integrity and high standards of the legal profession while serving as role models and mentors to younger lawyers.
"On behalf of the Ilorin Emirate and the people of Kwara State, I congratulate these distinguished legal practitioners on this well-deserved honour. May Almighty Allah grant them greater wisdom to continue contributing to the administration of justice and national development," the Emir said.
He also commended the Legal Practitioners' Privileges Committee for recognising excellence and finding the sons of Ilorin Emirate worthy of the prestigious rank.
The monarch further prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Senior Advocates guidance, protection and continued success as they carry out their professional responsibilities for the benefit of the nation and humanity.
