The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the murder of a farmer, Mr. Azeez Garba, whose lifeless body was discovered on his farmland along the Owa-Onire axis, between Isanlu-Isin and Owu-Isin in Isin Local Government Area.

The police commissioner condemned the killing as cruel, senseless and unacceptable, directing the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to deploy all available investigative and intelligence resources to identify and apprehend those responsible.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command said preliminary findings revealed that Garba had left for his farm in the morning but failed to return home, prompting his family and local vigilantes to launch a search.

According to the police, the search party first found the victim's motorcycle parked on the farm before discovering his lifeless body a short distance away. The deceased was said to have sustained deep machete wounds, indicating that he was brutally attacked by his assailants.

The command said no arrest had been made as of the time of the statement but assured the victim's family and residents that every available lead was being pursued. It added that intelligence gathering and other investigative measures had been intensified to ensure those behind the killing are identified, arrested and prosecuted.

The Kwara State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state, pledging not to relent until the perpetrators of the crime are brought to justice.
