Kwara Completes 2026 Hajj Airlift with Departure of Remaining 223 Pilgrims

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ilorin, has successfully airlifted the remaining 223 intending pilgrims from the state to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise. Speaking at the Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin, before their departure, the state Chairman of the Board, Professor Mashood-Mahmud Jimba, thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his invaluable support in ensuring the successful transportation of the pilgrims.

In his submission, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, advised the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and country at large while in Saudi Arabia.

Also speaking, the Amirul-Hajj and Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa, called on intending pilgrims from the state to pray for peaceful coexistence of the country and the state in particular.

The last batch was led by the state Chairman of the Board, Professor Mashood-Mahmud Jimba, Executive Secretary Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the Amirul-Hajj and Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa, and state officials.

Reports indicate that the remaining intending pilgrims from Kwara State boarded a Max Air flight at Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin, and took off at 6:05am this morning en route to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In all, a total of 1,714 pilgrims from the state were airlifted to Saudi Arabia through the state's Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, and all of them are hale and hearty.

According to reports, all the pilgrims have arrived in Madinah in preparation for the commencement of the full Hajj rites.
