Kwara Court Jails PDP Chieftain Esinrogunjo for Nine Months

A Kwara State High Court has convicted and sentenced Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to nine months imprisonment.

The judgment was delivered by Justice E.B. Muhammed after a trial that lasted three years and three months.

Esinrogunjo was found guilty of disturbing public peace and obstructing a police officer in the discharge of his lawful duties.

According to the court's ruling, he was sentenced to three months imprisonment without the option of fine for obstructing a public officer on duty, identified as Sergeant James.

He was also sentenced to six months imprisonment for disturbing public peace, with an option of a N2,000 fine.

During the trial, the prosecution called four witnesses, including the police officer involved in the incident, before closing its case.

The conviction brings to a close legal proceedings that spanned over three years.
