27 Youths Benefit from Dele Shittu Foundation's Free Mentorship Programme in Ilorin
A total of 27 youths from across the country have benefited from a free mentorship programme organised by a non-governmental organisation, the Dele Shittu Foundation. The beneficiaries were selected from various fields, which include business, medicine, entrepreneurship, and climate protection.
The Chairman of Dele Group of Companies and promoter of the foundation, Dr Lanre Shittu, disclosed that the youths were chosen from across the federation, with a specific focus on women. He made this known during the induction and workshop held for the selected beneficiaries of the mentorship programme in Ilorin.
Speaking on the objective of the scheme, he said: "The idea is to make sure we continue to give people hope and to help them connect with other people that have passed through their journey."
Shittu observed that such mentors were expected to assist the youths in navigating the areas of business and skills acquisition. He added that the programme facilitated the connection of the youths to internationally recognised scholars from the United Kingdom and the United States of America, as well as those based in Nigeria. According to him, the programme includes extensive knowledge about business entrepreneurship and innovation.
