The Kwara State Government has procured and installed modern radiology equipment at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Ilorin, in a move to strengthen healthcare delivery and diagnostic capacity.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of KWASUTH, Dr. Bola Ahmed, announced the development during a media briefing in Ilorin. He confirmed that the installation process is complete and the Radiology Department has officially resumed full operations, providing patients with immediate access to essential imaging services within the hospital.

Dr. Ahmed described the upgrade as a significant milestone for both the institution and the state's healthcare system. He noted that the previous lack of functional and sophisticated radiology equipment had been a major constraint for doctors in providing effective diagnosis and treatment.

According to the CMD, this development will significantly reduce the financial and physical burden on patients. Prior to this intervention, many residents were forced to seek radiological investigations at expensive private facilities or travel outside Kwara State to access such services.

With the new equipment now in place, KWASUTH is better positioned to provide high-quality, local diagnostic solutions, ensuring that the state's health system can meet the needs of its growing population.
