Journalist Hajia Biliqis Oladimeji Named New FOMWAN Kwara Amirah

Date: 2025-12-07

Veteran journalist Hajia Biliqis Modupe Oladimeji has been appointed the new Amirah of the Kwara State chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN).

She emerged through a consensus during the association's 40th Anniversary and Stepdown of the National Conference held in Offa.

Hajia Biliqis will lead the new executive council alongside Hajia Rukayat Adegboyega Adeagbo, who was named Secretary.

Speaking at the inauguration, Hajia Raliat Sanni, a member of the Board of National Trustees, urged the new leadership to promote transparency, unity, and cooperation as they steer the affairs of the organisation.

She called for stronger collaboration with women's groups and local government chapters, emphasising the importance of leadership rooted in Qur'anic principles, justice, and effective communication.

In her acceptance speech, the newly appointed Amirah expressed gratitude to the Board of Advisers, members, and local chapters for their confidence in her.

A retired Head of Centre at the Federal Ministry of Information and former Naibah Amirah, Hajia Biliqis pledged to work with executives across the state's three senatorial districts to strengthen FOMWAN and deepen its impact statewide.
