Kwara Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Completing Oluremi Tinubu Hospital
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to completing the multi-storey Oluremi Tinubu Hospital, as construction work on the iconic health project continues under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. This commitment was contained in a statement made public on Sunday.
The hospital, named in honour of Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is a flagship initiative designed to strengthen tertiary healthcare delivery in Kwara State. When completed (expected by the second quarter of 2026), it is expected to enhance healthcare capacity, expand access to quality medical services, and be fitted with advanced equipment, including MRI and CT scanners.
During an inspection visit in August, Governor AbdulRazaq reaffirmed his administration's dedication to implementing projects that promote the collective well-being of the people. He highlighted ongoing strategic investments in key sectors such as:
Health
Education (including a recent approval of N20 billion for public school infrastructure)
Agriculture
Digital Economy
The Governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support for state-led development programmes across the federation.
Named in honour of Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the hospital is a flagship initiative designed to strengthen tertiary healthcare delivery in Kwara State and align with the federal government's efforts to enhance medical services nationwide.
Over the past six years, the AbdulRazaq administration has recorded significant progress in transforming the health sector. This includes the construction, renovation, and upgrading of healthcare facilities, the provision of modern medical equipment, and the installation of solar power systems to improve service delivery in hospitals across the state.
When completed, the Oluremi Tinubu Hospital is expected to enhance the healthcare capacity in Kwara, expanding access to quality medical services, reducing pressure on existing hospitals, and speed up emergency responses.
