Kwara's Inaugural Kre8 Event to Address Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria's Creative Sector

Nigeria's Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, will attend the inaugural Kwara Kre8 , an initiative aimed at nurturing young creatives and professionalising Nigeria's creative industry.

Scheduled for 19 June 2025 at the Ilorin Innovation Hub, the event will focus on the theme "Professionalising Nigeria's Creative Industry: Opportunities, Challenges and Ethical Considerations".

It begins at 9:00 a.m. and will host photographers, filmmakers, social media influencers, content creators, storytellers, and other digital creators, with a specific emphasis on promoting Kwara State's cultural heritage and global talent.

The programme's highlights include keynote addresses by prominent figures such as:

Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy;

Ayo Adeagbo, Special Adviser on Art, Culture and Creative Economy to President Bola Tinubu;

Sadiq Rabiu, Special Adviser to the President on Capacity Development;

Bayo Omoboriowo, Personal Photographer to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement by the organisers noted the event's goal of addressing industry challenges while empowering participants to leverage digital platforms for global exposure.

According to the statement, the programme is in partnership with the Kwara State government to empower participants with skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities to excel in their creative pursuits.

It would also equip them with industry-relevant skills and expertise, provide mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, facilitate networking opportunities with industry stakeholders, and showcase participants' talents and works to a wider audience.
