Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has joined academics and stakeholders in celebrating Sanusi Akanbi Kazeem, a 400-level Mathematics student at the University of Ilorin, following his record-breaking attempt to deliver a 31-hour, 42-minute, and 54-second marathon mathematics lecture.

Guinness World Records is currently reviewing the feat, which surpasses the existing 26-hour benchmark for the 'Longest Mathematics Lesson'. Governor AbdulRazaq praised Kazeem's "extraordinary determination to etch his name in global academia," hailing the achievement as a testament to the student's potential for greatness.

In a statement on Thursday, the Governor also extended congratulations to Kazeem's family, tutors, and the University of Ilorin for fostering an environment conducive to such groundbreaking accomplishments.

"Kazeem has exhibited not just brilliance and capacity; his achievement is, in fact, a rare act of bravery, resilience, and can-do spirit. Whatever the decision of the Guinness World Records, we celebrate the Maths nerd for his efforts and his determination to be great," the Governor says.

"His story again demonstrates to all, especially younger ones, that outliers are those who have been given opportunities - and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them."
