Date: 2024-12-13

At least 141 officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Kwara State command, have been promoted, as reported by Daily Post.

The state controller of the service, Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, decorated the newly promoted officers in Ilorin on Thursday at the state headquarters, in compliance with the directive from the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababo.

In his opening remarks, the state controller admonished the newly decorated officers to be up and doing, as promotion attracts additional responsibilities. He urged them to be firm, committed, dedicated, and loyal to meet the mandate of the service as laid down in the Correctional Act.

One of the promoted officers, Raji Abdulkareem Adisa, officer in charge of the Old Ilorin Custodial Center, appreciated the service, especially, the state Controller, officers and men of the command for the orderly manner, cooperation and support given him since his assumption of duty in the facility.

He promised on behalf of the other promoted officers to act according to the rules, norms and ethics of the service, for peace to reign supreme.
