Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has extended his congratulations to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 29th anniversary as the Sheikh Alimi Emirate's leader and Chairman of the Council of Chiefs.

Governor Abdulrazaq highlighted that Ilorin has experienced notable advancements in various sectors over the last 29 years under the Emir's reign.

He noted that the city has achieved increased national prominence, a harmonious population growth, and a heightened status marked by new landmarks that underscore the emirate's evolving stature.

“We thank His Royal Highness for his strong leadership, his support for the people and government, and the grace with which he handles delicate matters of public importance,” the Governor said.

Governor Abdulrazaq asked Allaah to uphold the first class monarch upon goodness and bless his old age with good health, happiness, and continuous peace and harmony.

In a related message, the lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha also congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the 29th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of Sheikh Alimi.

Senator Mustapha expressed delight that the Emir has lived to witness yet another celebration of his coronation anniversary on the throne of his illustrious forebears.

He commended the Emir for his dedication to fostering peace, unity, and development within Ilorin and beyond.

The lawmaker noted that over the past 29 years of the Emir's reign, the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State have continued to witness development in all sectors, as well as harmonious and peaceful co-existence among people of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.

He also extolled the Emir, who is the Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, for his constant fatherly advice, love, and support.

The Senator prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him continued strength and good health to lead the Ilorin Emirate and its people for many more years.

Similarly, the Chairman Senate Committee on Trade and Investment and Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar extends his warmest congratulations to the Emir on the momentous occasion of his 29th anniversary on the throne.

In a congratulatory message by the lawmaker, Senator Sadiq commends him for his commitment to peace, unity, harmony, and the preservation of the cherished cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.

Under his reign, Ilorin has flourished as a center of culture and progress, marked by harmony and mutual respect among its diverse population.

“Your Royal Highness, your 29 years on the throne are a testament to your dedication, wisdom, and vision for a prosperous Ilorin. You have fostered an environment where tradition and progress coexist, creating a legacy of unity and development,” Senator Sadiq stated.

Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar expressed his profound gratitude and admiration for the Emir's exemplary leadership.

He prays for the continued well-being, good health, and wisdom of His Royal Highness as he guides Ilorin and the traditional rulers' council to even greater heights.

The Principal officers, Members, management and staff of the Kwara State House of Assembly, also felicitated Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the commemoration of the 29th anniversary of ascending the throne of his forefathers as the 11th Emir of the ancient city.

According to the Speaker, Yakubu Salihu-Danladi, the State House of Assembly, are proud and happy to be associated with the numerous successes that the Ilorin Emirate and indeed the entire Kwara State have recorded during the reign of His Royal Highness.

He says, “We are delighted that the Ilorin Emirate and the entire Kwara State have continued to witness tremendous infrastructural development in the last 29 years of the reign of His Royal Highness, especially in the last five years of the people-centred administration of a proud son of the Ilorin Emirate, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate.

The Speaker added that “It is noteworthy that the Emir of Ilorin has been at the forefront of the promotion of peace, harmony and development, not only in the Ilorin Emirate, but Kwara and Nigeria at large in the last 29 years of his reign.

“We, therefore, pray Allah to grant our royal father more years on this planet, with good health and sound mind to enable him continue his good services to Ilorin, Kwara, Nigeria and humanity in general” the Speaker added.

Also, the Group Managing Director, Kam Holding Limited, Dr Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf, has rejoiced with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), on the occasion of his 29th coronation anniversary on the throne.

Dr Yusuf, a front line industrialist, said the reign of Emir Sulu-Gambari has proven to be eventful and impactful in the last 29 years of his enthronement as custodian of culture and tradition of the Ilorin Emirate.

The foremost industrialist noted with delight that Ilorin has continued to grow in leaps and bounds under the rulership of the revered monarch.

Dr Yusuf recalled that the people of Ilorin Emirate have every reason to rally round the traditional ruler for providing correct leadership and direction in the administration of the Ilorin Emirate.

“I felicitate the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), on the event commemorating his 29th coronation anniversary.

“For the people of Ilorin, November 11th interchangeably referred to as 11/11, is not only significant but historic. The day often resonates with us because it was the day the historic moment in the annals of the Ilorin Emirate began.

“This day is therefore another moment of reflection and celebration in the remarkable reign of the Emir of Ilorin with the city growing in leaps and bounds. We have every cause to rejoice and celebrate this historic period.

Similarly, the Gamji Members Association (GAMA) in Kwara State, rejoiced with the Emir of Ilorin and chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on the 29th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his forefathers.

GAMA, an association devoted to the promotion of the ideals of the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, praised Sulu-Gambari for following the footpaths of the pioneer premier of northern Nigeria in his drive for peaceful co- existence and development of Ilorin, Kwara and Nigeria as a whole.

In a statement signed by its President General, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi and the Director of Publicity, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, GAMA described the Emir of Ilorin as a frontliner in the promotion of peace across the country.

The association expressed delight that Ilorin and indeed Kwara State, have continued to witness tremendous infrastructural development necessary for socioeconomic growth during the reign of Sulu-Gambari.

It prayed to Allah to grant the Emir long life, sound health and abundant prosperity to enable him continue his invaluable services to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara , Nigeria and humanity in general.

It also congratulated the traditional chiefs and the people of Ilorin Emirate, home and abroad on the joyous occasion of the Emir's 29th year anniversary.
