Senator for Kwara Central District, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, at the weekend presented letters of appointment to no fewer than 30 persons in Alanamu Central Ward of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking at the Alanamu ward secretariat of the People's Democratic (PDP), Isale-Aluko area, venue of the distribution of the letters of employment to the beneficiaries, the ward chairman Alhaji Jimoh Abdulrahaman, said the development was part of Saraki's efforts at reducing poverty through provision of employment to the teeming youths.

He said the former governor had redeemed his pledges of providing 35 employments as well as construction of boreholes to the ward.

Abdulrahaman said, "During the electoral campaign, Dr. Saraki made a lot of promises to us in Alanamu ward and today we thank God, the promises have been redeemed. We were promised 35 employments, five already have been given to us and today what I have in my hands are the original copies of letters of employment for 30 of our youth. This is a way of reducing poverty through employment by our leader.

"Equally he promised to give us boreholes, these boreholes have been sunk; the transformers have been provided."

He explained further that the letters would be shared among the 24 zones in Alanamu ward, while the remaining six would be distributed among the executive members.

Onilogbo said, "In fact, I am really happy about this because I served between 2003 and 2004 and since then there was nothing to show for it, but through the help of Senator Bukola Saraki that gave us 30 employments in Alanamu, I am able to benefit from that today."

"I have HND in Civil Engineering and I was posted to Moro Local Government as assistant Education Officer" he added.
