Ilorin Woman Appeals to Court to Prevent Husband's Divorce Decision
Daily Trust reports that Mariam Alagbede from Idiape Village, Ogidi Area in Ilorin, Kwara State, has appealed to an area court in Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, to dissuade her husband, Muhammed Bashir, from proceeding with their divorce.
Expressing her commitment to the marriage, Alagbede pleaded with the court, stating, “I don't want a divorce,” as she remains dedicated to maintaining their union.
“Please sir, help me beg him to forgive me for anything I might have done wrong.”
Earlier, the husband told the court that he married his wife three years ago, but he's now tired of the marriage due to lack of love and his wife's lack of submission.
The Presiding Judge, Toyin Aluko, advised the wife to explore possible ways within the two families to settle the misunderstandings between them.
The court adjourned the case until January 14, for a report on the settlement efforts.
