UNICEF Partners with RUWASSA for WASH Training Workshop
In a bid to enhance the data collection process for the Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene Baseline Survey (WASH), the Kwara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) has organised a one-day training workshop for enumerators involved in the survey, as reported by Informant247. The workshop was held in collaboration with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), which promotes the rights and well-being of every child in the country.
The workshop took place at the Rotana Event Hall, Rotana Hotel, Fate Road, Ilorin.
Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, addressed the participants, highlighting the state government's commitment to the well-being of its citizens as the primary motivation for the training.
Commissioner Lade urged the participants to pay close attention to the resource persons and absorb the necessary skills for data processing and analysis, declaring the workshop open.
Earlier in his remarks, the General Manager of RUWASSA, Mr Olorunfemi Oladipo, while disclosing that the state government had paid its counterpart funding, described the state government's action as a good gesture that has brought the establishment back to its responsibilities in the last 20 years.
Oladipo, while thanking the state government and UNICEF for creating the enabling environment for the agency to organise the training that helps to facilitate the partnership for the expansion of the Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene (P-WASH) Programme in the state, explained that the participants were drawn from the various communities that comprise the 16 local government areas of the state.
