Ahmed Pays Unscheduled Visit to Public Schools

Date: 2013-01-23

Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has promised to continually pay unscheduled visits to schools in the state to ensure teachers are in class and pupils learn under a conducive environment.

Ahmed paid an unscheduled visit to Baptist LGEA primary school, Ajasse-Ipo in Irepodun local government area where he inspected the classrooms in the school and interacted with the pupils who elatedly greeted him. He said he was in the school to confirm the renovation of one of the classrooms that were given out under the state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

"We need to see that this project has been carried out. Most of the classrooms are distributed among the three senatorial districts. There are some in Kwara North, Kwara South and Kwara Central. I am sure other schools have been completed or about to be completed.

"We are paying an unscheduled visit for us to be sure that teachers are in school, for us to be sure that the pupils are in school, not only in school, they are in class learning. This has just been demonstrated," he said.
