APC Launches Chairmanship and Councillorship Campaign in Kwara's Ilorin East

According to the news reported by Voice of Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State has officially launched its Chairmanship and Councillorship campaign in preparation for the local government election scheduled for September 21, 2024.

During the campaign launch, party chieftain Yahaya Seriki presented the chairmanship and councillorship candidates to the public. He called on the people of the local government to show strong support for the party's candidates across the state in the upcoming elections.

Seriki highlighted the visible achievements of the ruling party throughout the state and underscored the importance of ensuring that the APC continues to hold power at the grassroots level.

The Special Adviser/ Counselor to the state governor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, said the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Ilorin East Local Government is unprecedented, urging the people to vote for all the candidates of the party in the forthcoming election.

The Director General of the Ilorin East APC Campaign Council, Ali Jimoh said the council will not leave any stone unturned at ensuring the victory of the party during the election.

The event also featured a prayer session led by the Grand Mukadam of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Dan Borno , who prayed for the success of all the APC candidates in the upcoming election.

In a brief sermon, Sheikh Sanu Shehu encouraged politicians to be upright, truthful, and dedicated to addressing the needs of the people.

He warned against engaging in corrupt practices and urged politicians to always prioritize the welfare of their constituents.

Speaking on behalf of the candidates, the APC chairmanship candidate for Ilorin East local government, Garba Agbelere, pledged to ensure transparency and accountability if elected.

He highlighted that his administration would focus on projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the people and called on the electorate to support his candidacy and ensure his victory at the poll .

Agbelere expressed his gratitude to the state Governor and other party stakeholders from the local government for their support in his emergence as the party's flag-bearer, promising that he would not disappoint them if elected.

The campaign council for the Ilorin East APC was later inaugurated at the party's campaign office along Sabo Oke, Ilorin.

The State Chairman of APC, Sunday Fagbemi was represented at the event by his deputy, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari, who officiatedthe event.

In a related development, the Ilorin-South APC Chairmanship Candidate, Nuhu Podo, Ilorin East Chairmanship Candidate, Vice Chairmanship Candidate, all Ilorin East Councillorship Candidates and all APC Candidates received blessings from Islamic Scholars led by Chief Imam of Gambari.

Prominent personalities that graced the occasion included the Chief of Staff to the state governor, Alhaji AbdulKadir Mahe, Special Adviser /Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, the Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Cook- Olodo, the Commissioner for Environment, Nafisat Buge, the Commissioner for Forestry, Business, Technology, and Innovation, Damilola Adelodun, Commissioner for Education, Sa'adatu Moddibo- Kawu, Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr Afees Abolore, Non Executive Director of NNPCL, Dr Ghali Alaaya, Senior Special Assistant on Religion ( Islam), Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaigoro and Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Muyideen Aliyu, State APC women leader, Alhaja Falilat Mohammed, Kwara Central women leader, Alhaja Tawa Agaka, the lawmaker representing Ilorin East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Fatimoh Arinola Lawal and other party chieftains.
