Igbomina Youth Assembly Lauds Kwara Government for Development Initiatives and Strategic Appointments
As highlighted by the Nigerian Tribune, members of the Igbomina Youth Assembly (IYA), the umbrella socio-cultural organisation representing all Igbomina youths and youth groups in Igbominaland, have praised the current administration in Kwara State for its development initiatives, particularly for appointing competent individuals from the region.
In a statement by its president, Jimoh Rasheed Temitope, the group cited the establishment of the College of Nursing Sciences at Oke-Ode, located in Igbominaland within the Ifelodun Local Government Area, as a prime example of these efforts.
“It is clear that siting of tertiary institution is one of the major factors that do cause speedy development in the host community and we want to say that Oke-Ode has not been an exception. On behalf of Oke-Ode community and the entire Igbominaland, we are grateful for this,” he said.
The people, who also appreciated Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his disposition and passion towards the youth and their development, said such was demonstrated through policies, patronage and engagement in governance.
“We want to say that appointment of the incumbent College Provost, Mr. Quadri Olanrewaju Lamidi since October 2022, is a blessing to the College and Oke-Ode community at large,” he said, considering the innovation and developmental strides the College has received through him since his assumption of office as the College
The people, who said that the shock of loss in the bid to host the Kwara State University of Education in Igbomina was still being felt, adding that it became imperative for them to guide, monitor and protect the few ones they have at hand.
