Man Sentenced to 12 Months for Stealing TV Sets

According to a news report from Daily Trust, a man named Abdulsamad Abdullahi has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for breaking into a house in the Itesiwajurere community, behind Harmony Estate, Ilorin, Kwara State, and stealing flat screen TV sets.

After his apprehension, the property owner requested Abdullahi to demonstrate how he gained entrance into the house. This demonstration was filmed, and the video subsequently went viral.

The spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, Michael Shola Ayoola, who confirmed the incident, said, “Following a thorough investigation, the suspect, Abdulsamad Abdullahi, was found guilty of burglary and theft.

“He was prosecuted and arraigned in the chief magistrates' court in Sango, where he pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 12 months in prison without an option of a fine.”
