Commissioner: Infrastructure to Drive Economic Growth in Kwara

According to a news report from New Telegraph, the Kwara State Government has pledged its commitment to utilising infrastructural development as a catalyst for driving economic growth in the State.

During an assessment visit by the Indices and Disbursement Committee of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr Hauwa Nuru, the State Commissioner for Finance, affirmed the government's dedication to fostering a conducive business environment for investment to flourish in Kwara State.

Dr Nuru emphasised that the current administration, under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is prioritising infrastructure development as a means to enhance revenue generation, create employment opportunities, and attract investment to the State.

The Commissioner lauded the efforts of the RMAFC's Indices and Disbursement Committee in evaluating the commendable projects undertaken by the State Government, highlighting the government's focus on timely project completion.

In response, Hajiya Bala, the leader of the RMAFC's Indices and Disbursement Committee, commended Kwara State for its proactive measures towards boosting economic development and revenue generation. She noted the significance of the infrastructural projects visited and their potential to enrich the State's revenue streams.

The committee's assessment covered various infrastructural projects including the Innovation Hub, Kwara Hotel, Revenue House, Garment Factory, Ilorin International Conference Centre (IICC), and Unity Road.
