Lawmaker Distributes Empowerment Items In Kwara
A member of the House of Representatives representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency of Kwara State, Hon. Ahmed Adamu Saba, has distributed empowerment items worth N300 million to his constituents.
The items including bags of rice, beans, maize, mattresses, standing fans, sewing machines, cartons of noodles, groundnut oil, refrigerators, seasonings, generators, chairs and bags of cement were handed over to the people at the flag-off ceremony in Shonga, Edu local government area of Kwara State.
Some of the beneficiaries were also presented cash to reduce hardship.
The items distributed were facilitated through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Services, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and Federal Polytechnic, Ukana.
At the flag-off event, Saba, who is the chairman, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) in Kwara State, said items such as bags of rice were distributed to serve as palliatives for his constituents. The lawmaker said the items were to demonstrate his commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.
