Unuanel Promises Mean Kwara United
Kwara United technical adviser, Samson Unuanel has revealed to supersport.com that his men would challenge for the Premier League title this coming NPL season.
Unuanel was appointed the technical adviser of the Ilorin-based club after his predecessor, Tunde Sanni was relieved of his duty as head coach.
Sanni, who last term helped United finish sixth on the final standings was axed as a result of the Afonja Warriors' lacklustre performance in the Federation Cup in which the club failed to progress from the group stage that comprised NNL side, Crown FC, NPL returnees, El-Kanemi Warriors and champions, Kano Pillars.
Unuanel, 48, who was last term in charge of expelled side, Ocean Boys, is now positive that his men would give Kwara fans what they have been yearning for all these years.
"Honestly, I have decided not to speak to any media but I have a lot of respect for supersport.
"I want my work to speak for me when the new season starts and I want to promise that I would give Kwara what they want which is the continental ticket," he said happily to supersport.com.
The former Enyimba gaffer stressed that United have completed the registration of the 35 players who will campaign next season for the Afonja Warriors.
"We have completed our recruitment exercise and the boys I signed are all capable of giving me what I want," he concluded.
Founded as Kwara Water Corporation Football Club in 1974, Kwara United have never won any title in any cadre of Nigerian football.
