Tukur, Amaechi, Uduaghan in Ilorin, Say Nigerians Will Miss Saraki

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alh. Bamanga Tukur, and the chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, yesterday said that the late Second Republic Senate leader, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki would be greatly missed by Nigerians.

While Tukur noted that the politician's demise was not only a loss to the people of Kwara, Nigeria and Africa but the entire World because of his vast experience in politics and unequalled generosity. Amaechi said that the nation's history would be incomplete without the name of the founder of the Northern Union (NU).

The PDP chairman and Amaechi spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State yesterday during their separate condolence visits to the family of the late Waziri of Ilorin. The duo were received by the eldest son of the late politician, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Bamanga described the late Saraki as "a trusted and dependable brother", adding that, "we thank God for his life".

The chairman of the governors' forum and Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi noted that, "the late politician has used his political experience to ensure the growth of the nation's democracy to the extent that both young and old politicians would ever remember him".

He pointed out that, the late Saraki lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation by the Nigerian leaders as well as the younger generation.

The governor of Delta State, Dr. Uduaghan who was also in Ilorin, described the late politician as one of the "crowd pullers" Nigeria has ever produced.
