Abdulrazak's Fixation On Lai Mohammed Costly For Kwara - APC Chieftain

Date: 2021-10-26

Moshood Ishola, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a one time member of Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak of Kwara's inner caucus has described as unfortunate, the recent attack by the state governor on the person of Alhaji Lai Mohammed, stating that such fixation on the minister of Information has cost the state dearly in terms of governance.

The Kwara APC stalwart, popularly referred to as 'Pascal' and a former scribe of the opposition party, People's Democratic Party, PDP, under Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, before both moved into the APC in the state before the 2019 election, also added that Gov Abdulrazak has practically alienated all critical stakeholders of the party and state.

"This is why nothing appears to be working in the state," he added. Responding to a recent interview by the governor in a national daily where Abdulrazak explained the genesis of the feud between him and the Minister for Information as arising from their campaign funds, Abiola said: "It is quite saddening that three years into this government's administration of Kwara, it is still fixated on Alhaji Lai Mohammed and about his not sharing money for the campaign.

"What we should be talking about now is governance. We have gone past the stage of politicking. What is our problem with Lai Mohammed when there are critical issues bordering on governance?"

"Oh, is he talking about just Lai Mohammed? What of Dele Belgore, does he not have problem with Oba Abdulraheem, the professor, Tajudeen Audu from Edu local government, we have Akeem Lawal, whose contribution to the governor's emergence is immeasurable?"

"The governor has problem with him too. Lukman Mustapha is also there, we have Bio Ibrahim. We have Saliu Mustapha too. All these people are not on good terms with the governor."

Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo is also a critical stakeholder in the state. You are not even mentioning Gbemi Saraki.

"All these people are critical stakeholders in the state yearning for the betterment of Kwara State," Pascal said.

The party chieftain and former Senatorial aspirant disclosed that the state government doesn't have a think thank helping it shape policies.

"This is why APC in Kwara has largely failed in delivering in his promises. It is so clear that the governor is not a team player and Kwara is suffering for it," he said.
