According to him, even though the state receives very low allocation from the federation account, the government was still committed to improving on its Internally Generated Revenue to aid its transformation agenda involving all sectors of the state economy.
Alhaji Oba, who expressed appreciation for the honour done him, urged the publisher of NIMMA magazine to continue to project the mission and vision of the magazine to ensure an egalitarian society.
He advised upcoming media practitioners to always be objective in their news reporting and avoid anything that could tarnish their image in the society.
Alhaji Oba who dedicated the award to the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for providing him an enabling environment implored Nigerian media to continue to sustain the nation's democracy by being objective rather than publishing what could cause disunity among the people.
Earlier, the publisher of NIMMA magazine, Mr Abdul-Hameed Alli, who was accompanied on the visit by some industrial training students, said a media and ICT centre to be established by the magazine would be named "Abdulwahab Oba ICT Centre".
He acknowledged the efforts of Governor Ahmed in his transformation agenda and for executing viable projects that have raised the living conditions of the people especially at the grassroots.
