100 Get Free Eye Treatment in Kwara
No fewer than 100 persons with eye defects from Kwara state are to benefit from free eye treatment under the auspices of the wife of the state governor Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed.
Those involved are 60 children while the remaining 40 are adults. The treatment is a collaboration between LEAH Charity Foundation of the first lady and Avenue for Wealth, a Lagos based NGO.
Speaking on the treatment , the press secretary to the governor's wife , Mrs. Oludipe Olufunke explained that the foundation commence the surgery with a minimum of ten persons per week with about twenty patients already operated upon within the second week and all the operations are successful
Oludipe noted that the surgery is expected to cost at least N25,000 per eye for children while the adult will cost N7,000 per eye .
She said all the patient have defects in eyes and the sugery will be carried out on them free of charge including the drugs they will use after the operation.
She said the essence of conducting the operation batch by batch with a week's interval is to be able to monitor the patients individually.
She urged all those who benefited from the said gesture to ensure they take their medication as at when due and desist from engaging in activities that will affect their health.
