Kwara pensioners protest unpaid gratuities, want past administrations probed

Date: 2020-01-23

Some pensioners in Kwara state on Wednesday took to the streets of Ilorin to protest the incomplete payment of their pensions and gratuities by the administrations of former governors Bukola Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed.

The protesters carried placards and headed straight to the government where they urged governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to help investigate alleged diversion of their pensions and gratuities by past administrations.

They stated that former governor Bukola Saraki secured a loan of N3.3 billion on their behalf in 2008 but only disbursed 50 per cent of the loan to them.

They appealed to governor AbdulRazaq to investigate the alleged diversion and pay them their balance.
