Eid-el-Kabir: Ilorin emir seeks peace, police promise security

Date: 2019-08-10

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has enjoined Nigerian pilgrims to pray for the unity, peace and prosperity of the country.

He also urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for Muslims, who were performing pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a message on Thursday by the National Secretary of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the monarch wished them safe return.

He said, "Hajj is a strong pillar in the Islamic jurisprudence as enjoined by Allah. I heartily felicitate with Muslim Ummah across the world especially contingents from Kwara State who have answered the call of Allah by offering themselves to perform this year's Hajj exercise.

"I urged wealthy Muslims to extend hands of charity to the underprivileged during the festive period to promote love and harmony.
