Labour strike: Why we won't join NLC nationwide action -Kwara NMA

The Kwara branch of the Nigeria Medical Association has distanced itself from the nationwide strike proposed by the Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday.

The state chairman of the association, Dr. Mohammed Kolade-Solagberu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin on Monday.

NAN reports that the organised labour plans to hold an indefinite strike across the country to press for a new minimum wage of N30,000.

But Kolade-Solagberu said that the branch would not join the NLC in the strike.

He said that the members would be at their duty posts to render necessary medical services to the people.

"Medical doctors in the state will be at their duty posts if the strike will hold," he said.
