Tinuoye Olatayo Kehinde has emerged as the All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate for the bye election of the House of Representatives seat for Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke- Ero/ Isin federal constituency in Kwara state.

Kehinde emerged the winner of the direct primaries conducted across the 42 wards of the federal constituency by the Ishola Balogun- Fulani led faction of the APC.

The party had in a statement on Friday said that the primaries for the bye election would hold on Saturday, November 3,2018.

The Acting publicity secretary of the APC, Dr Dele Kayode made the outcome of the primaries public in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday. He described the conduct of the primaries as peaceful and commended party's members who participated in the exercise for their orderliness.

The Irepodun/ Oke- Ero/Ekiti/Isin constituency's seat in the House of Representatives became vacant following the demise of Princess Funke Adedoyin who was elected during the 2015 general elections to represent the constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

Consequently, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 17, 2018 for the bye election .
