Herdsman Threatens to Kill Farmer in Ilorin

Date: 2012-09-11

An Ilorin Magistrates' Court on Monday remanded a herdsman, Abdullahi Oseni, in prison custody for allegedly threatening to kill one Alhaji Maikudi Mohammed.

The accused, along with one other now at large, was alleged to have taken his cows into the complainant's farm, resulting in the destruction of his crops.

Police prosecutor David Wodi said the complainant reported the matter to the police and that while investigation was going on, the accused and his accomplice went to his house and allegedly threatened to kill him.

Wodi objected to bail for the accused, pending the arrest of the second accused.

He said the accused was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and intimidation, offences which contravened the provisions of Sections 97 and 387 of the Penal Code.

He prayed the court to remand the accused in prison pending the completion of investigation.

Magistrate Bola Adeyemo ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody, and adjourned the case to Sep. 25, for mention. (NAN)
