2019: Youths Adopt Ajia As Kwara PDP Guber Candidate

Date: 2018-04-18

Kwaran youths in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have adopted a chieftain of the party, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, as the party's governorship candidate for the 2019 election in Kwara State.

Rising from a one-day summit in Ilorin, the state capital, the youths under the aegis of Kwara Youth Stakeholders Forum said they resolved to back Ajia after closely studying his credentials among other contenders in the governorship race.

A communique issued at the end of the summit and signed by the forum's president, Comrade Charles Olufemi Folayan, harped on the need to put youths forward for the governorship seat in the forthcoming general elections. It said the passage of 'Not Too Young to Run Bill' by the National Assembly was instructive and lent credence to the ongoing campaign to provide enabling environment for youths to take their rightful places in governance.

The communique urged PDP's stakeholders to support the aspirations of youths to take charge of the nation's affairs.

"Having studied closely the credentials of one of the major contenders for the governorship race in the state in line with his antecedents in person of Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, we hereby unanimously endorse him as the choice youth candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election," the communique said.
