FCT Cricket Association optimistic of medals at NYG

Date: 2017-09-08

Ayo Adewole, Secretary of the FCT Cricket Association on Thursday said he was optimistic that the team would win medals at the third National Youth Games (NYG) in Ilorin. Adewole said this in Abuja that the team had prepared well enough to clinch medals at the youth event.

The FCT team alongside the Games host, Kwara, will represent the North Central zone in the male category while the Kwara side and Plateau state team will feature in the female event.

"We are presenting a male team only and we did well in the zonal playoffs where other states in the zone participated, so I am optimistic of winning medals. "Moreover, we held a two-week camping ahead of the Games where we selected 12 players and two officials for the event," he said.

The NYG is scheduled to begin today to end Sept. 17 at the University of Ilorin with 24 sports to be participated in.
