Kwara APC raises the alarm over fresh plot by Presidency Officials Against Saraki

Date: 2017-07-10

The All Progressives Congress in Kwara State has accused the Presidency of orchestrating renewed plot to forcefully remove President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki from office.

In a preliminary reaction to the fresh moves against the Senate President, the party through its publicity secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, declared that Dr. Saraki will surmount the renewed onslaught like he did the previous politically-motivated plans to undermine him.

"We wish to alert Nigerians that we have credible reasons to believe the existence of this fresh plot after one of the appointees of the Presidency, one Charles Olufemi Folayan, an aide to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Student Affairs embarked on media attack against the Senate President. In the attack launched on some online platforms this morning, Atoyebi tried to kickstart a phony recall process against the Senate President.

"Instructively, it should be noted that few days ago, a sponsored and contrived group under the name Kwara Youth Stakeholders Forum organised by the same presidential aide issued a press statement on a purported recall process against the Senate President. In the said press statement, the group praised its paymasters and sponsors to high heavens while blaming the Senate President for the shortcomings of the Executive arm of government. The group also disparaged the Senate President and threatened to kick start the process to recall Dr. Saraki, the senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District.

"Ordinarily, the party will ignore any all these infantile moves as Dr. Saraki enjoys 100 percent loyalty and support from the people of Kwara Central senatorial district and the Kwara State people. Furthermore, the exponents of the supposed plot are not constituents of Kwara Central senatorial district just as they have no relevance or tangible base as far as Kwara politics is concerned.

"However, we are raising this alarm because of the open and obvious link to the Presidency by these purveyor of false information. The person is an appointee of the Presidency and has the temerity to put his name on such false campaign against the number three citizen in the country.

"Finally, the renewed plot has shown that the people derailing the lofty ideas and ideology of the All Progressives Congress are agents of the Presidency. We hope the Presidency will backtrack from this plot and call its agents to order. It is also now obvious that the undesirable elements sowing the seed of discord between the executive and legislature are domiciled in the Presidency", the party stated.

Signed

Sulyman Buhari
