Amid Tight Security, Muslims Mark Eid-el-Fitr Prayers in Ilorin

Date: 2017-06-26

The two rakat prayers observed by Muslims at Ilorin Eid praying ground, Ilorin, Kwara State capital to commemorate the end of Ramadan fast was held amidst deployment of security personnel to the venue of the praying ground. Though, it was a peaceful one but it was devoid of glamour that usually accompanied the celebration of the Eid prayer in the city.

The worshippers who trooped out enmasse to the praying ground were subjected to thorough checking by the armed guarded security personnel deployed to the venue of the praying ground.

The deployment of armed guarded security personnel to the venue of Eid praying ground according to THISDAY checks was occasioned by the intelligence report that some people may launch attack at the venue of the praying ground over non payment of salaries of councils workers and primary school teachers in the state.
