The Member representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa has distributed food items worth millions to Muslim faithful in his constituency to support them in this holy month of Ramadan.

Hon. Atunwa who distributed the items as his annual gesture, urged Muslims to seize the opportunity of the sacred month to preach peace and unity amongst each other. He also enjoined them to pray for the progress and stability of the country stating that only a peaceful environment can bring the desired development in the state and the nation at large.

The former Speaker said the prayers should not exclude the political leader of the state and senate president of Nigeria, Dr Bukola Saraki, the state Governor and the entire political institution.

The Ramadan package as usual cut across the two local governments under his jurisdiction and beyond. The beneficiaries include: party stalwarts, elders/stakeholders, aged women, youths/development associations, women groups, artisans amongst others.

Describing the gesture, some of the beneficiaries said "it is an annual thing, we are familiar with Atunwa's philanthropism. It is the former Speaker's effort to reduce suffering among the Muslim communities in the state. We pray for more blessings and elevation for him."
