The headquarters of the New Testament Christian Mission International, Salvation Road, Ilorin the state capital was around 2:15am on Sunday, attacked by unidentified armed robbers.

According to an eye witness, the men of the underworld scaled the fence and tied the guards on duty with ropes before heading to the main building of the worship centre.

During the operation, the robbers were said to have forced open doors leading to the church and subsequently those working in the church studio to surrender all money received in respect of the church's proposed crusade.

The witness said the armed robbers were miffed that the church was organising a crusade at a time many people are dying of hunger.

"You people are planning such a big crusade when hunger dey kill us. Wey all the money wey una collect to organise the crusade,?" the robbers were quoted to have said.

However, when it was obvious that the church's money was not available, the men of the underworld went with the multimedia laptop which contains sermons of the pastor, a gun belonging to one of the church’s guards, mobile phones and other valuables.

According to report, one of the guards who escaped after scaling the fence alerted the police but the robbers had left before the patrol team arrived he scene of the incident. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident but said no arrest has been made so far.

"We were told that the armed robbers on arrival, tied the closed, security man and collected some valuables like laptops and other valuables. The incident is still being investigated and for now, no arrest has been made," he disclosed.

The New Testament Christian Mission is presently planning its annual ‘God of Miracles Crusade scheduled to hold from May 2 to May 6 and the host minister is Reverend Moses Rahman Popoola.
