NESREA to begin emission test on vehicles

Date: 2017-03-06

Motorists in Kwara State with smoking vehicles will soon keep a date with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), which is set to check their pollution of the environment.

The agency said that it will embark on Vehicular Emission Test from next month in the state.

The Kwara State Coordinator of NESREA, Mr Martins Ikechukwu Enenwaene disclosed this to journalists in Ilorin, the state capital on Sunday.

The equipment for the enforcement of the vehicle emission law, he said had been imported and would be mounted at strategic locations and those that emit smoke would be detected and fined in accordance with the law as its members of staff would be trained on the usage of the new device.
